Community meeting to discuss long-term care of Pendleton’s trees
How should Pendleton’s tree canopy grow over the next 30 years? Where should the City plant more trees, and how should those trees be cared for? The City of Pendleton is inviting the community to help answer those questions at a public open house for the Urban Forest Management Plan.
The Urban Forest Management Plan will guide how Pendleton protects, maintains and expands its tree canopy. Community input helps ensure the final plan reflects local values and priorities.
A public open house on the development of the Urban Forest Management Plan will take place 6-8 p.m. Aug. 12, in the Vert Clubroom, 480 SW Dorion Ave., Pendleton. This is a drop-in event, and all ages are welcome.
During the open house, attendees will be able to review maps and data, speak with project staff and provide feedback on priorities, challenges and opportunities related to the Pendleton’s urban forest. City staff emphasize that public insight is essential to shaping a plan that supports environmental health, community well-being, and long-term resilience.
