Independence Day fireworks begin at 10 p.m. Friday, July 3
Pendleton City Hall, the Pendleton Public Library, and other non-emergency offices will be closed Friday, July 3, in recognition of Independence Day.
This year, holiday fireworks will take place at 10 p.m. Friday, July 3, in the same area as last year - behind the Pendleton Round-Up Grounds and Pendleton Convention Center.
Parking will be available at each PCC and the Blue Mountain Equine Center, but no personal fireworks will be allowed at either location. For safety reasons, Fallen Field and the portion of Southwest 18th Street from Westgate to the river will be open to foot traffic only from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Roads will be closed Saturday morning in preparation for the VFW's Independence Day parade, and a community celebration will follow at Roy Raley Park at 11 a.m. The Live Pendleton app lists multiple other holiday events as well.
