Welcome to Pendleton Fire & Ambulance
The Pendleton Fire & Ambulance Department (PFD&A) is a professional full-service emergency response agency committed to protecting lives, property, and the environment through fire suppression, advanced emergency medical services, prevention, education, and community partnership.
Under the leadership of Fire Chief Anthony Pierotti, Assistant Chief & Fire Marshal Valorie Tomren, Assistant Chief of Operations & Training Brian Hemphill, and Office Administrator Dusty Vaillancourt, our department is powered by a highly trained team of career personnel and dedicated Fire, EMS and RN Reserve members who proudly serve our region with professionalism, integrity, and compassion.
Our Service Area
PFD&A provides comprehensive fire protection services to the City of Pendleton, Riverside, Lower McKay Creek, McKay Dam, the Rieth Water District, and contracted properties throughout the surrounding area.
In addition to fire protection, the department delivers 24-hour Advanced Life Support (ALS) emergency medical response across about 2,200 square miles of Eastern Oregon. Our crews respond day and night, 365 days a year, serving residents and visitors throughout the city of Pendleton, Pilot Rock, Rieth, Riverside, Ukiah, including areas of remote wilderness where immediate emergency care is often critical.
From urban neighborhoods to rugged backcountry terrain, our mission remains the same: rapid response, exceptional care, and unwavering service when our community needs us most.
Emergency Response
Emergency readiness never stops. Our department maintains around-the-clock emergency response capabilities staffed by 24 full-time firefighter-paramedics, supported by 20 skilled reserve firefighters, paramedics, and firefighter/EMTs.
Every member of our team undergoes rigorous and continuous training to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness, medical care, technical rescue capability, and fire suppression effectiveness. Through ongoing education, hands-on training, and commitment to excellence, PFD&A remains prepared to respond to emergencies of every kind — anytime, anywhere.
