GARDEN COUNCIL

The founding partners designed the garden with the community in mind and thus, the community should have a say in it’s management and operation. We are working to stand up a Community Garden Council that will meet quarterly (four times per year) to support and council UCo with its management decisions, operations structure, sustainability planning, caretaking/maintenance and partnerships. We will have a nomination process for interested community members who will serve next to representatives of our partners. Stay tuned for more information.

PARTNERSHIPS AND DONATIONS

Are you a business in the area, an educational institution or program, a nonprofit and would like to partner with the garden in some way? This is a public space and we are always seeking ways to integrate with other organizations and businesses in our region. The garden is also available to host learning opportunities and events.

To learn more about how you can make a difference, contact the UCo Healthy Communities Coordinator, Analyah Cruz at analyah.cruz [at] umatillacounty.gov (analyah[dot]cruz[at]umatillacounty[dot]gov)

VOLUNTEERS

The garden is a public project and is always seeking support from the community. We have many opportunities to get involved and/or give back. Perhaps you would like to support seasonal maintenance or help organize and sharpen the tools regularly or teach a class based on your expertise? There are many chances to get involved. Stay tuned to our newsletter for regular updates, or reach out to pendletoncommunitygarden [at] gmail.com (pendletoncommunitygarden[at]gmail[dot]com) to inquire on the current volunteer opportunities available with your specific interests in mind.
