On Friday, Pendleton Parks and Recreation 's Jeff Hamilton was named the 2024 Employee of the Year at the Pendleton Chamber's First Citizens Banquet.

Jeff’s dedication to the Pendleton Aquatic Center and ice rink goes far beyond his job description. His initiative and creativity are unmatched, whether it's solving complex mechanical issues, launching community programs like the swimming lesson scholarship fund, or working tirelessly to ensure everything runs smoothly. Jeff's leadership has shaped some of Pendleton’s most beloved events, from the Annual Duck Race to Skating with Santa, making a lasting impact on our community.
As a supervisor to over 70 young employees each summer, Jeff is not only a mentor but a role model, guiding first-time workers with patience and support. His reputation as a leader in the aquatics industry extends beyond Pendleton, with professionals across the region seeking his expertise. From 60–80 hour work weeks to personally ensuring lifeguards stay cool on the hottest days, Jeff’s commitment to excellence and community service makes him truly deserving of this honor.
