The City of Pendleton is seeking to fill a Laboratory Technician position at the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Position responsibilities include: Performing laboratory tests of the WWTP; collecting samples either manually or by programming equipment for automated sample collection; testing for biological and/or physical characteristics;  monitoring and tracking trends and patterns of test results and recommending courses of action; conducting the data monitoring for quality assurance; calibrating and maintaining laboratory and process equipment; conducting laboratory testing for other local municipalities; and maintaining Laboratory certification.

 

Two years of post-secondary education or an associate degree from an accredited college or university and some work experience in a position where written technical instructions are followed such as in a laboratory or industrial process control testing.  Must be able to obtain within 2 years a Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Wastewater Treatment Level 1 certification.  Pay is $4,296 - $5,290 DOQ plus benefits.  Applications are available at https://pendletonor.gov/hr/page/employment or in the Personnel Office at City Hall, 500 SW Dorion, Pendleton, OR 97801; (541) 966-0201.  Open until filled with first review after close of business May 31, 2024.  The City of Pendleton is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
