The City of Pendleton is seeking a full-time UAS Test Range Manager to lead daily operations and long-term development at one of the most active UAS test sites in America. The Pendleton UAS Range (PUR) supports commercial and defense flight testing within 14,000 square miles of FAA-approved airspace and has facilitated over 65,000 UAS operations since 2014.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a seasoned flight test professional or aerospace engineer with strong operational, regulatory, and general management skills. Responsibilities include overseeing flight operations, safety, airspace coordination, COAs, and customer support, while also collaborating on business strategy, budgeting, and technical pre-sales efforts. The Range Manager supervises a small, high-performing team and serves as the primary liaison to the FAA, University of Alaska Fairbanks, and range clients.
Requires extensive UAS flight test or aerospace operations experience, excellent communication and planning skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-focused environment. Ideal for someone ready to grow into a general manager-type leadership position.
Salary range is $8,534–$10,752/month DOE plus excellent benefits.
