UPDATE: Monday, Sept. 8 BOIL NOTICE LIFTED

Customers of the City of Pendleton were notified on Sunday, Sept. 7, of a problem with our drinking water, and some customers were advised to boil their water before use. We are pleased to report the problem has been corrected, and water samples have been tested and are safe to drink. It is no longer necessary to boil water. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience   Sunday, Sept. 7 3 p.m. UPDATE: All impacted residences have been notified. If you have not been notified, your home is not impacted.   1:30 p.m. UPDATE: The City water crew is going door to door handing out or placing flyers in the impacted area. We expected all impacted residents to be notified within the next two hours. This only impacts the listed area.

9:45 a.m. UPDATE: Due to a computer system communication failure, the Skyline Water Reservoir emptied overnight leaving several residents at the top of North Hill without water.  City crews were able to restore water by 7am this morning.

Safety protocols require the City issue a BOIL NOTICE for residents at the top of North Hill.  The following areas are affected: north of NW King Ave, NW John’s Place, NW Ingram Ln., and NE 3rd St.  If you live on NW 5th or 6th Ave, this notice would apply to you if your house number is above 800.  If you are unsure, we ask that you use bottled water or boil.

We expect this notice to be lifted on Tuesday after we can confirm water safety through testing.

Before drinking, residents are advised to boil water. CDC guidelines state to “bring water to a full rolling boil for 1 minute”.  You can find more information here:  www.cdc.gov.  You can also drink bottled water.

If you have questions call Umatilla County Dispatch at 541-966-3651 and someone from the City will return your call.  During the week you can call the City Public Works Department at 541-966-0202.

7 a.m.:

Early this morning, the City of Pendleton's water distribution system experienced an issue that caused the Skyline System above NW Gillam Ave on the north hill to run out of water. The crew was able to restore pressure in the system by 7 a.m. The crews are out flushing the system now to ensure water quality, and we will test the water today to make sure everything is as it should be.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank everyone for their patience.
