AUG. 14 UPDATE:
On August 13, 2025, at about 8:26 a.m., Pendleton Police Officers were dispatched in response to multiple 911 calls reporting a vehicle crash and a gunshot in the 1200 block of SW Goodwin Ln, involving multiple individuals. Pendleton Police Officers responded promptly and arrived on scene within 30 seconds of being notified.
Upon arrival and through subsequent investigation, officers learned that a resident in the 1300 block of SW Goodwin Ln had been the victim of a robbery. Two (2) masked assailants forcibly entered the victim’s residence. One of the assailants was armed with a firearm. The victim was assaulted by the assailants, threatened bodily harm, and items of value were stolen-including a firearm belonging to the victim. Through investigation and video surveillance, one of the assailants was identified. The victim managed to escape, at which point the assailants also fled. During the events that followed, a vehicle crash occurred and one of the two assailants was detained by a witness until law enforcement arrived on scene.
There was no active shooter or report of an active shooter. There were no injuries reported resulting from a gunshot.
The Pendleton Police Department was assisted by the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office and Umatilla Tribal Police Department.
The Pendleton Police Department is issuing this statement to inform the public and media that no further information will be released regarding the ongoing active investigation, all further inquiries should be directed to the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office.

Isolated Incident on South Hill – One Individual in Custody
Pendleton, OR — At approximately 8:26 AM on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, the Pendleton Police Department received a report of an isolated incident in the South Hill area. Officers responded promptly and arrived on scene to investigate.
One individual has been taken into custody. At this time, there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
As a precautionary measure, local schools and businesses enacted secure/lockdown procedures. These steps were taken out of an abundance of caution and have since been lifted.
The Pendleton Police Department is actively investigating the incident. Further details will be provided as they become available.
